HA NOI (Biz Hub) — FPT Corporation on July 20 announced the appointment of Hoang Viet Anh as the general director of FPT Software JSC for a three year term.
Anh, born in 1975, holds a bachelor's degree in information technology from the Hanoi University of Science and Technology. He joined FPT Corporation in 1993 as a developer, when he was studying at the university.
He has held different positions such as director of FPT Software in Asia-Pacific, director of FPT Software Strategic Unit 1, and deputy-general director–cum-chief operating officer of FPT Software JSC during his 20 years at the firm.
He has replaced Nguyen Thanh Lam, who resigned for personal reasons.
Software development generates the second largest revenue for FPT Corporation, after telecommunications. Last year, it earned more than VND3,580 billion (US$162.7 million) in revenue, and nearly VND520 billion ($23.6 million) in after-tax profit. The largest markets of FPT Software are Japan, the United States, the European Union and the Asia-Pacific region. — VNS
