HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply (MAPA) has lifted the import ban on Vietnamese seafood, according to the Vietnamese industry and trade ministry's website baocongthuong.com.vn.

In a document 266/2015/ CGPE /DIPOA issued on March 27, the MAPA informed its relevant agencies to grant import licences to Vietnamese seafood products, based on a proposal from the fisheries and aquaculture ministry (MPA).

The Brazilian market is increasingly becoming important to Vietnamese exporters of seafood products, especially of frozen tra fish fillets, as exports to major markets such as the European Union, the United States and Japan, are seeing falling demand and exporters are facing tariff and technical barriers. — VNS
