VNPT gets new Director-General

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Deputy Director-General of the Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) Pham Duc Long has been appointed the group's Director-General.

A ceremony was held by the information and communications ministry to announce the appointment on April 3.

Long, a member of the group's member council, has also been appointed deputy head of the group's party committee.

Born in 1970, Long started working for the VNPT in 1992. He was appointed the VNPT's Deputy Director-General in 2013.

The VNPT has a charter capital of VND72 trillion (US$3.4 billion).

The firm's main business activities include providing post, telecommunications and information technology (IT) products and services. It is also involved in manufacturing, import and export, and the supply of telecommunications, IT and media materials and equipment.

It also provides media products and services and participates in the real-estate industry by leasing offices, as well as supplying finance, credit and banking services. — VNS
