HCM CITY (Biz Hub) - The French supermarket chain Big C has signed trade agreements with eight providers in Ninh Binh and Phu Tho provinces to purchase vegetables, fish, beef, pork, egg and other products.

The agreement was signed at a seminar held last week in the provinces to increase the localisation ratio of Big C's product line. Total contract value of the agreement is about VND5 billion (US$238,549).

The aim of the seminar was to help local industries and to respond to the government's campaign "Vietnamese People Give Priority to Use Vietnamese Goods". The meeting was also an opportunity for Big C to meet local producers and purchase their local specialties.

As of today, Big C also signed co-operation agreements with 98 small-medium sized enterprises for a total contract value of about VND105 billion (more than $5 million), after organising similar seminars in Hue as well as Nghe An, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh and Phu Tho provinces. - VNS
