The southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau plans to build an industrial zone in Chau Duc District’s Da Bac Commune, chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Trinh said on Monday.

The Dong A Chau Duc Joint Stock Company will be the investor of the project. Total investment will be VND530 billion (US$23.5 million).

The industrial zone is expected to attract investment in manufacturing consumption goods, mechanics, electric-electronics and pharmaceutical and medical equipment; as well as processing farm produce and food and providing logistics service.

In the first phase, the zone will cover an area of 295ha. It is allowed to operate for 50 years.

With the completion of Da Bac Industrial Zone construction, the province will have total 14 IZs. — VNS
