DONG NAI (Biz Hub) — The southern province of Dong Nai has set a target of earning $2.5 billion from footwear exports in 2015, according to the provincial Department of Industry and Trade.
To reach the goal, the province would organise regular meetings with footwear producers to help solve their difficulties as well as create opportunities for them to participate in trade fairs and exhibitions to seek new trade partners and new export outlets, said Le Van Danh, the department's director.
In the first quarter of this year, footwear surpassed other commodities in terms of export turnover, earning about $545 million, up 13 per cent year-on-year. Major markets included the US, Britain, Belgium, Poland and Japan. — VNS
