HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Shares ended mixed in Asian markets on the first working day of the year. They were lower in Viet Nam. Ha Noi's HNX Index rose 0.27 points to 62.49 HCM City's VN Index gained 1.09 points to 480.04.
Singapore shares ended lower with the Straits Times Index slipping 5.42 points to 3,145.
Meanwhile, the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index added 16.04 points to 1,995.24 while the Hang Seng Index gained 363.21 points to 20,803.29 in Hong Kong.
In Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 increased 175.18 points to 13,852.50 and the Topix index added 16.86 points to 1,150.70. — VNS
