Shares end higher in Asia except Viet Nam

HA NOI (Biz Hub)— Asian shares ended up on Friday except in Viet Nam. In Ha Noi, the HNX Index lost 0.26 points to close at 62.59, while in HCM City the VN Index lost 1.82 points to close at 481.13.

The Shanghai Composite climbed 1.5 percent to 1,979.21 at the close, while the Hang Seng Index in Hong Kong closed up 1.8 per cent at 20,803.29 points.

Tokyo stocks jumped 3.51 per cent on Friday as Japan's premier bourse got a boost from a weaker yen following comments from the US Federal Reserve aimed at soothing concerns over its stimulus programme.

The benchmark Nikkei 225 index closed up 463.77 points at 13,677.32.

Singapore shares ended higher on Friday with the Straits Times Index gaining 32.41 points to finish the week at 3,150.44. — VNS
