Shares maintain modest growth

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Shares were traded above the neutral level this morning, but growth narrowed as liquidity declined.

On the HCM Stock Exchange, the VN-Index added another 0.23 per cent to close the morning session at 570.28 points, while the VN30, which tracks the top shares by market value and liquidity, inched down 0.04 per cent to stand at 587.23 points.

Money continued to flow into mid-caps, particularly realty stocks. Five of the seven most active codes this morning, with trading of about two million shares, were of real estate companies.

Hoang Quan Consulting Trading Service Real Estate Corp (HQC) is leading the trading here, with more than five million of its shares being exchanged, rising 1.72 per cent to close at VND5,900 per share.

The overall liquidity in the HCM City market declined slightly, compared with yesterday morning, as just 64.5 million shares worth VND911.4 billion (US$42 million) changed hands.

On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index increased 0.29 per cent to end at 85.13 points.

The trading volume was modest at just 33.4 million shares, worth more than VND402 billion ($18.5 million), by the end of the morning.

Sai Gon Thuong Tin Real Estate Co (SCR) continued to lead the market as the most active stock, with 5.9 million of its shares being traded four per cent higher at VND7,800 per share.
