Shanghai index bucks trend to end higher

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Major indices across Asia ended the week lower except for the Shanghai Composite Index in mainland China, which rallied by 19.57 points to finish at 2,326.43 on September 5.

Vietnamese markets closed mixed, with the VN index falling by 1.57 points to close at 638.65 and the HNX gaining 1.04 points to finish at 88.54.

The Hang Seng Index led the losers by falling by 57.77 points to close at 25,240.15 in Hong Kong. The Nikkei 225 slipped by 7.5 points to end at 15,668.68 and the Topix Index fell by 3.18 points to end at 1,293.21. The Straits Times Index lost by 7.14 points to end at 3,339.2 in Singapore. — VNS
