BlueScope reaches 12 per cent of market share

BA RIA – VUNG TAU (Biz Hub) — Steel producer NS BlueScope Viet Nam Company Ltd on October 21 said it had gained 12 per cent of steel market share in the country.

Speaking to Viet Nam News, Country Director Vo Minh Nhut said the construction sector's growth rate of 7 per cent had spurred sales.

Nhut said that for the last six months, the growth of his company was in the "double digits".

He said that his company would continue to offer environmentally friendly products as part of its business strategy.

The company plans to bring more modern technology from Australia, while develop its distribution system as well.

As one of the first foreign investors in the country 20 years ago, NS BlueScope now has three plants in the country producing Colorbond, Zincalume, BlueScope Zacs and Lysaght products.

Most of the products serve the Vietnamese market, and others are exported.

NS BlueScope is a venture of Australia's BlueScope Steel Limited and Japanese Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corp which operates in the ASEAN and North American markets. — VNS
