Asian shares end higher

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The Nikkei 225 gained 403.75 points to reach 15,383.91, leading the Asian shares to end higher on January 29 in Tokyo.

The Topix Index there also added 31.87 points to close at 1,256.18.

The Hang Seng Index also edged up 180.55 to reach 22,141.19, while its counterpart in mainland China, the Shanghai Composite Index closed up 11.40 points to finish at 2,049.91.

The exception was the Straits Times Index which lost 18.93 points to end at 3,042.43 in Singapore. Vietnamese shares remained unchanged during the longest holiday of the year which will end on February 5. So the VN Index remained at 556.52 in HCM City and the HNX Index at 74.22 in the capital city. — VNS
