HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The Korea Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Kotra) in Ha Noi said 60 South Korean firms would showcase their products at Vietnam Expo 2015, slated to begin on April 15.
The firms specialise in a wide range of sectors such as food and beverages, household appliances, machine and equipment as well as cosmetics and jewellery. At the forthcoming event, these firms would advertise their products, exchange information with other participating firms, study the Vietnamese market and seek new co-operation opportunities, the agency said.
Director-General of Kotra Ha Noi Lee Kyu Seon said the Viet Nam–Korea Free Trade Agreement, which was signed by the two governments in late 2014, has opened up positive co-operation opportunities for the two business communities.
This year, Kotra Ha Noi planned to organise at least 10 trade promotion events and three large-scale exhibitions as it highly appreciated the potential of the Vietnamese market, he said.
Bilateral trade between Viet Nam and Korea reached US$30.3 billion in 2014, making South Korea Viet Nam's third-largest trading partner, after China and the United States.
Meanwhile, Viet Nam is South Korea's eighth largest trading partner and the second largest among the ASEAN member countries, next to Singapore. — VNS
