HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — An exhibition to promote seeds will open at HCM City's Biotechnology Centre in District 12 on June 23, with nearly 130 companies showcasing their products.
It will have 300 booths displaying, besides seeds for vegetables and flowering and ornamental trees, also aquaculture and livestock brood stock and agricultural implements.
Duong Hoa Xo, deputy director of the city Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, said the exhibition would showcase quality seeds and brood stock suitable for local conditions that would enhance productivity, quality and competitiveness.
A conference on high-tech agriculture will be held on the opening day of the expo, promoting transfer of advanced technologies and soliciting investment in many of the city's agricultural projects, he said.
The exhibition would also feature orchids and bonsai competitions, he said.
It would offer opportunities to localities, businesses and co-operatives to meet, compare notes and seek opportunities in agricultural production and trading and promote Vietnamese agricultural brands, he said.
Organised by the city Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the exhibition will run until June 27. — VNS
