HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — The Vietnamese Trade Fair 2016 in Cambodia will be open from October 6-10, presenting 300 stalls from over 200 Vietnamese enterprises.
Details of the fair were announced at a conference held by the Centre of Exhibition and Trade Promotion of the Army (CETPA), and the Department of Economics, under the Ministry of National Defence (MOD) in HCM City late last week.
The trade fair will be co-organised by the Department of Economics of the MOD, the Viet Nam Trade Promotion Agency (VIETRADE) under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and Cambodia's Trade Promotion Department from their Ministry of Trade.
Vietnamese enterprises will showcase apparel, footwear, handicraft products, electronics, fertiliser, ago-forestry-fishery products and processed food.
Several sideline activities will also be held during the four-day event, including a free cataract surgery programme for social welfare beneficiaries from the two countries' military hospitals, gift offering, and arts programmes.
This year's event aims to support Vietnamese and enterprises in increasing exports of products and tourism to the Cambodian market as well as ASEAN member countries, organisers said.
Bilateral trade between the two countries reached US$3.37 billion in 2015, and the two sides are striving to record $5 billion in trade revenue in the near future . — VNS
