HawaExpo 2024, the largest nationally endorsed export furniture fair, will be held from March 6 - 9 in two distinct display locations in HCM City, promising to provide opportunities for manufacturers to showcase their capabilities, introduce innovative products, and connect with potential business partners.
Speaking at a press conference in HCM City on February 29, Nguyễn Quốc Khanh, chairman of the Handicraft and Wood Industry Association of HCM City (Hawa) and Viforest Fair, and head of the fair’s organising committee, said the fair this year triples its scale in terms of exhibitors, products, and activities.
It has attracted more than 500 exhibitors in 2,500 booths, with 80 per cent of them being domestic producers while those remaining include prominent wooden furniture and handicraft manufacturers from other ASEAN countries as well as local and foreign design units, raw material suppliers, and accessory providers.
This year, HawaExpo will first introduce a new fair model that customizes two concept halls: “Connect Hall” at the traditional venue of Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center in District 7 that focuses on seamlessly connecting the entire spectrum of the Vietnamese wood industry, and “Create Hall” at White Palace Phạm Văn Đồng in Thủ Đức City that features over 300 artistic booths showcasing cutting-edge designs of furniture, accessories and materials brands.
Khanh also highlighted that the organiser has actively coordinated with businesses to select the most outstanding products and latest collections to promote at the fair. The move is expected to help show international buyers the capacity and potential of Việt Nam's wood, furniture, and handicraft industry.
The fair this year also welcomes the first-time participation of an outstanding group of furniture design and hospitality contractors, he said.

He added that the main goals that HawaExpo aims for are: promoting sustainable development of Việt Nam's wood industry, building a professional marketing system, contributing to make Việt Nam a supply destination for customers, and creating conditions for Vietnamese young designers and businesses to reach a large number of customers around the world.
Besides directly connecting with potential business partners at the fair, exhibitors will have opportunities to showcase their products throughout the year on virtual exhibition platform (Hopefairs) and further enhance their cross-border e-commerce sales with the support of Amazon and Wayfair, he said.
Also at the press conference, Viforest Fair announced that after HawaExpo 2024, it will organize the first-ever Quy Nhơn International Outdoor Lifestyle Fair (Q-Fair 2024) in Bình Định Province’s Quy Nhon city from March 9-12.
The event will have the participation of more than 100 exhibitors showing outdoor furniture at more than 1,000 booths.
Q-Fair 2024 promises to bring great experiences to participants and contributes to promoting Việt Nam's wood and furniture industry, particularly outdoor furniture, to reach further into the international market, it said. — VNS
