HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Business leaders, government officials and representatives from civil organisations are set to attend a conference in HCM City on August 15 to discuss the ways in which Viet Nam can raise its global influence.

Initiated by the brand consultancy group Consulus, Shape The World Conferences have gathered more than 3,000 delegates from around the region since 2005. The conference was first launched in Singapore and has since been introduced to fast-growing economies such as the Philippines and now Viet Nam.

This year's conference, the fifth in the series, will be themed, "What is Viet Nam 's Brand of Leadership?" .

Among the topics under consideration will be the role of branding in transforming an industry, how Vietnamese values can guide the approach of developing business leaders and why innovation is necessary for Vietnamese companies.

Lawrence Chong, General Director of Consulus Singapore, has emphasized the importance of the event. "Since it was first organised in 2005, the Shape The World Conference has provided a platform for young and emerging leaders who are purpose-led and understand the urgent need to change the way we have built the Asian economy so far. It is no longer about just achieving financial success but shaping the future," he said. — VNS
