HCM CITY (Biz Hub)— HCM City is set to host its first exhibition of seeds this month.

Seeds for flowering and ornamental trees and vegetable plants as well as aquaculture and livestock brood stock and agricultural implements will be on show at the expo organised by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Suoi Tien Cultural Tourism Joint Stock Company, and the Sai Gon Agriculture Corporation.

Speaking to the media on Thursday, Pham Thiet Hoa, director of the city's Centre for Agricultural Consultancy and Support, said the exhibition seeks to introduce quality seeds and brood stock that are suitable for local conditions.

The event would also feature an ornamental-fish competition and exhibition, with around 25 fish farms taking part, he said.

Experts would counsel farmers and visitors on using new technologies in seed and livestock production at the expo, he said.

There will be a conference on the current status of seed production and supply in HCM City, application of technology in sex selection of dairy cattle, and other topics on June 28.

The expo will be held from June 27 to 30 at Suoi Tien Theme Park in District 9.
