The national carrier Vietnam Airlines was named a four star airline for its quality service by the Airline Passenger Experience Association earlier this week.
The carrier’s ranking, matching world-leading airlines such as Air France, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and United Airlines, is based on passenger feedback in categories including seat comfort, cabin service, food and beverage and entertainment.
According to APEX CEO Joe Leader, there are 107 of nearly 500 airlines rated worldwide, with less than 9 per cent rated by their passengers at the highest Five Star Airline level and the next 14 per cent reaching the prestigious Four Star Airline tier. Using a five-star scale, more than one million flights were rated by passengers across nearly 500 airlines from around the world between 1 July 2017 and 30 June 2018.
The APEX Official Airline Ratings™ were independently certified by a professional external auditing company and used to establish the airline’s Official Airline Ratings™, as well as for the APEX Passenger Choice Awards.
Vietnam Airlines has been awarded the prestigious 4 stars Skytrax International Airline for three consecutive years, was named Asia’s most-loved airline in 2018 by TripAdvisor, as well as being named the world’s leading cultural airline, and the world’s leading airline- premium economy class by the World Travel Awards. — VNS
