Vietnam Airlines has launched a direct flight from Perth, Australia, to HCM City. The inaugural flight, VN790, departed from Perth at 00:50 a.m. on December 8, local time, carrying over 300 passengers.
This new route marks the third Australian city that Vietnam Airlines operates flights to, in addition to Sydney and Melbourne.
The return flight, VN791, carried nearly 200 passengers on a Boeing 787 Dreamliner from Tân Sơn Nhất International Airport and arrived in Perth at 10:50 p.m. on December 7, local time.
Đặng Anh Tuấn, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Airlines, said Australia is one of the largest and most important markets for the airline. Vietnam Airlines initiated direct flights to Australia in 1995 and has now expanded to three cities, including Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.
The launch of the flight connecting with Perth is particularly significant as it coincides with the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Việt Nam and Australia in 2023.
Currently, Vietnam Airlines operates three flights per week between HCM City and Perth. Flights depart from HCM City at 3:50 p.m. every Monday, Thursday and Saturday, while flights from Perth depart at 00:50 every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday. — VNS
