The Foreign Agricultural Service under the US Department of Agriculture is partnering with MM Mega Market Vietnam to introduce US foods and beverages to Vietnamese consumers under the “United Tastes - Khám Phá Mỹ Vị Hoa Kỳ” programme.

The programme is being organised at all MM Mega Market’s stores nationwide from August 3 -17, introducing US products and cuisine through 60 well-known brands such as HERITAGE, Bristol, Hormel, Campbell, Heinz, Lay’s, Budweiser, and Quaker with discounts of up to 30 per cent.

The event will also feature food sampling, and cooking demonstrations.

Speaking at the opening ceremony at MM An Phú in HCM City on August 3, Andrew Anderson-Sprecher, Senior Agricultural Attaché at the US Consulate General in HCM City, said: “US food and beverages are becoming popular in Việt Nam due to their high quality, safety, and diversity. Today, Vietnamese consumers can easily find a wide variety of US food and beverages in MM Mega Market stores and other modern retailers.”

“The US Department of Agriculture works closely with our partners in Việt Nam to introduce high quality US products to Vietnamese consumers,” he said.

This is the second year that the FAS has partnered with MM Mega Market to organise the event. It is part of the "United Tastes - Mỹ Vị Hoa Kỳ" series, the annual celebration exclusively designed for the Vietnamese market to inspire Vietnamese customers to experience US culinary culture and high quality US food and beverages.

“We firmly believe that the potential is huge and cooperation will be further facilitated via stronger synergy in the future. This amazing United Tastes plays a significant role in promoting bilateral trade and providing safe and quality food and beverage products directly imported from the United States for local citizens,” said Bruno Jousselin, managing director of MM Mega Market Vietnam.

The US is one of Việt Nam’s largest trade and investment partners. The bilateral trade between the two countries reached US$123.9 billion last year, a year-on-year increase of 11 per cent.

The US remained the second largest importer of Vietnamese products, while Việt Nam was the ninth largest export market for US agricultural products, reaching $3.9 billion in 2022, according to the USDA. — VNS
