Car and commercial vehicles maker Truong Hai Auto Corporation (THACO) has begun a blood donation campaign that will run until September-end.

On the first day of the programme on June 26, 165 workers and executives from its HCM City office donated nearly 200 units to the Blood Donation Centre of HCM City.

More than 2,000 have registered for the programme, and 1,800 units are expected to be donated.

On July 7 in Chu Lai-Quang Nam, where the company has more than 9,000 staff, THACO will collaborate with the Viet Nam Red Cross to donate blood.

A team of volunteers has been established in Chu Lai with more than 100 company personnel to donate blood in emergencies to hospitals in Quảng Nam.

Over the past 10 years THACO has organised 12 blood donation campaigns.

They are part of its community charity activities which also include building bridges in rural areas, providing scholarships to students in Đồng Nai Province and others. — VNS
