Sheraton Saigon Hotel & Towers has launched a Malaysian culinary event at its Saigon Café, showcasing the authenticity of Malaysian flavours prepared by two guest chefs from Malaysia.
Straight Outta Kuala Lumpur, the hotel's second programme of the “Straight Outta Asia” series, is designed to bring international guest chefs to HCM City.
The exclusive offering running until June 18 celebrates a kaleidoscope of Malaysia flavors, starring two Malaysian guest chefs, chef Nazarudin and chef Afzainizam, from Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur.
The programme is in conjunction with the food and cultural promotion programme of Malaysia Madani Week hosted by the Malaysian Consulate General in HCM City to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral relations between Malaysia and Viet Nam.
Straight Outta Kuala Lumpur brings avid foodies to the dazzling capital of Malaysia with a fusion of hyperlocal and endemic flavour. During the event, the renowned buffet at Saigon Café churns out plates of strong, spicy and aromatic delicacies.
From the live stations with highlighted pasembur salad and rojak buah, to the delightful folded flatbread murtabak and crispy yet buttery roti canai, and from juicy satay to hot stations featuring typical noodle bowl of Penang asam laksa, Malaysian food never disappoints.
Must-try items include char koay teow, beef rendang, assam pedas and ikan bakar that are extraordinarily satisfying and diners should not miss the classic Malaysian dessert - bubur cha cha, one of the most popular desserts of Malaysia, which commonly features coconut milk, sweet potatoes and taro.
Malaysia's signature dishes are offered in the lavish seafood buffet dinner at Saigon Café while buffet prices remain the same.
