More than 2,200 applicants were selected from 20,000 applications to answer the Global Samsung Aptitude Test (GSAT) for the northern region held in Ha Noi on Sunday.

The selected applicants are either engineers or holders of a bachelor’s degree.

GSAT is a Samsung global capacity test for new candidates graduating from universities, and includes three main topics: mathematical ability, deductive reasoning and visual thinking. This is one of the first rounds of the recruitment procedure for graduate staff of all Samsung subsidiaries worldwide.

After the GSAT, high scorers will go through interviews in December. After passing two rounds, the most outstanding and suitable candidates will become official employees of Samsung Viet Nam in early 2018 and will work at seven facilities and centres, including Samsung Electronics Viet Nam Thai Nguyen (SEVT), Samsung Electro-Mechanics Viet Nam (SEMV), Samsung Electronics Viet Nam (SEV) and Samsung Display Viet Nam (SDV), as well as Samsung SDI Viet Nam (SDIV), Samsung SDS Viet Nam (SDSV) and SVMC.

Samsung Viet Nam Mobile R&D Centre (SVMC) also held its monthly contest for recruitment of programming engineers with the participation of 250 students.

SVMC also examined the Samsung Talent Programme scholarship, with a value of over VND54 million for each student along with the opportunity to work at Samsung R&D right after graduation.

The GSAT recruitment test was first organised by Samsung Viet Nam in 2011 and more than 12,300 employees have been recruited through this test so far. The recruitment of a large number of university graduates is a part of Samsung’s expansion plan in Viet Nam. This is an important step in the transformation of Samsung’s strategy to strengthen its leading position as the world’s largest mobile phone manufacturer. — VNS
