Nestlé Vietnam Company Ltd was honoured by the Ministry of Finance for its efforts to maintain production and business activities, ensuring jobs and income for workers, while making a major contribution to the State budget in the period 2020-22, despite many challenges from the COVID-19 pandemic.
The ministry has organised a conference "Outstanding taxpayers for the period 2020-22" to honour typical taxpayers for their compliance with tax laws; making significant contributions to the State budget and well implementing digital transformation programmes.
Nestlé Vietnam continued to be listed in the 1,000 largest corporate income tax payers ranking, called the V1,000 in 2022. This has been the seventh consecutive year the company was honoured in the list.
In the period 2020-22, in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak, in the “new normal” situation, or recovering from the pandemic, with many difficulties and challenges for society and the business community, Nestlé Vietnam has always striven to maintain production activities and ensure the company's goods circulation. In particular, the company still maintained stable employment and a comprehensive physical and mental health care programme for employees, including: financial assurance (salaries and benefits); ensured safety, physical and mental health; enhanced recognition and reward activities; and enhanced connection activities with employees.
In addition, the company has constantly implemented community support programmes. In 2022 alone, Nestlé Vietnam accompanied partners to contribute to charitable activities, donating nutritional products to households and workers in difficult circumstances with total value of nearly VNĐ19 billion.
For two consecutive years, Nestlé Vietnam was recognised as the most sustainable enterprise in Việt Nam in the manufacturing sector. This vote belongs to the programme to evaluate and announce sustainable businesses in Việt Nam (CSI Programme) organised by the Việt Nam Confederation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), in co-ordination with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, and Việt Nam General Confederation of Labour.
Operating in Việt Nam since 1995, Nestlé Vietnam currently operates four factories and two distribution centres located in Đồng Nai and Hưng Yên provinces, with more than 2,300 employees, while indirectly creating over 10,000 jobs in the supply chain.
Over nearly 30 years, Nestlé Vietnam has continuously expanded investment and diversified products to serve food and nutritional needs, with the goal of optimising the role of food to improve the quality of life of people and future generations. The total direct investment capital of Nestlé Vietnam has reached US$730 million. At the same time, Nestlé purchases about 20 – 25 per cent of all Vietnamese coffee, with an average value of $700 million a year. — VNS
