MDIS’s School of Engineering and Technology has announced plans to expand its collaboration with partners to set up more training programmes to meet the increasing demand in the IT and engineering streams.

It said with the COVID-19 pandemic still raging on in many countries, everyone has to embrace a new normal, especially in preparing for the post-pandemic era.

Working in technology, telecom and even manufacturing, patient care and sales could become partially or fully remote, it predicted.

Viet Nam has been striving for digital transformation for the past five years to become a digital economy and society, and “In this climate, there has been a wave of tech start-ups as well as tech projects from multi-national companies,” it pointed out.

“With these developments, the demand for tech experts and skilled personnel will increase.”

To meet the evolving industry demands, the School of Engineering and Technology offers students and mid-career professionals an M.Sc in Project Management in partnership with the UK’s University of Sunderland.

It seeks to train project professionals in conceptualising, planning, developing, implementing, and delivering projects.

The school also offers other new programmes like an M.Sc in Cybersecurity and B.Sc (Hons) in Cybersecurity and Networks and in Information Technology in partnership with Teesside University and the Higher Diploma in Ethical Hacking and Forensic Investigations Countermeasures.

The programmes aim to provide a critical understanding of information governance and assurance and technology risk management practices. — VNS
