The world’s leading food service retailer, McDonald’s, is set to open its first restaurant in Ha Noi.
The information was revealed by an officer of Good Day Hospitality Joint Stock Company, McDonald’s developmental licensee for Viet Nam.
However, the date for the opening of this first restaurant in Ha Noi was not disclosed.
Launched in Viet Nam in February 2014, McDonald’s Viet Nam currently has 16 restaurants, all in HCM City.
The plan to expand its operation to Ha Noi was prepared by Good Day Hospitality in early 2016, after its annual growth rate was doubled from 2014. However, till date, there are no McDonald’s restaurants in Ha Noi or the northern provinces.
At a recent human resources conference, Good Day Hospitality’s general director Nguyen Bao Hoang reiterated that his company is recruiting many talented young people to realise the expansion plan. Hoang also confirmed that McDonald’s Viet Nam will expand to the capital city and the northern markets in the future.
The building on No 2 Hang Bai Street, Hoan Kiem District, expected to be the location of the first McDonald’s restaurant in Ha Noi, has an area of 697sq.m and is located in the centre of the city, near Returned Sword Lake.
