Long Thuận Group Corporation has proposed an investment plan to the Quảng Trị Province People's Committee for the construction of the Nam Cửa Việt General Port and the accompanying logistics warehouse area in Triệu An Commune, Triệu Phong District.
The project aims to meet the needs of businesses within the Southeast Quảng Trị Economic Zone by providing facilities for the consolidation, loading, unloading and transportation of goods.
It also seeks to support the economic and social development of the region by establishing warehouse infrastructure for handling, storage, logistics services and postal customs clearance.
With a total investment of over VNĐ966 billion (US$38.7 million), the project will cover an area of 25.43ha. The Nam Cửa Việt General Port, occupying 16.69ha, will consist of two port bridges spanning a total length of 260m.
It will be capable of accommodating multipurpose vessels and handling general cargo weighing up to 5,000 deadweight tonnes. The port is designed with a capacity of 2.7 million tonnes per year.
