Steel maker Hoa Sen Group said it has collaborated with Viet Nam Television to donate school supplies to 46,800 disadvantaged children across the country.

HSG said it is an annual charity event at the start of the new school year to encourage children to go to school.

The one-month programme starts in the middle of August.

HSG will also gift bicycles to 200 disadvantaged students living along the route of its international cycling tour, the VTV Ton Hoa Sen Cup.
