Hoa Sen Group was recognised as a "Large taxpayer with high compliance to customs rules".
The award ceremony, held on Thursday, is part of the Customs - Business Forum 2022, which is being held as part of the 77th anniversary of the founding of Viet Nam Customs.
Hoa Sen is the only private enterprise operating in the manufacturing, production and trading of galvanized steel industry to be honoured.
In 2021, overcoming the difficulties of the COVID-19 pandemic, Viet Nam's steel industry for the first time successfully exported 14 million tonnes of steel, earning US$12.7 billion. Hoa Sen brought in more than $1.2 billion, accounting for 10 per cent of the total export turnover of the steel industry. In the fiscal year 2020-21, the group achieved an output of more than 2.2 million tonnes, revenue of more than VND2 billion, contributing nearly VND3 trillion to the State budget.
After more than 21 years of operation, Hoa Sen Group has consistently held the top spot in the Vietnamese market for galvanized steel sheets, controlling 36 per cent of total domestic consumption and exports, or more than 40 per cent of the entire export volume (according to the report of Viet Nam Steel Association in 2021). The group presently sells to more than 87 countries and territories, with a monthly export production of more than 100,000 tonnes and product quality that meets international standards.
A representative from Hoa Sen Group said: “The group consistently adheres to the requirements of paying taxes in full, abiding by the legislation regarding customs, and declaring and submitting accurate and complete dossiers on import and export turnover, according to a spokesperson of the company. Hoa Sen Group is happy to have contributed to the growth of Viet Nam's logistics and trade flows through its import and export operations. Our distinction in the global market is further affirmed by awards like "Large tax payer, high compliance with customs rules" in particular.” — VNS
