Hafele Vietnam has launched new smart door locks called Deadbolt 2 and Smart key box, which it said are innovations of Igloohome, the well-known Singaporean start-up.

The company, the sole distributor of these keys in Viet Nam, said the locks use a personal identification number (PIN) or bluetooth.

According to the company, the locks have been developed since Aribnb is growing strongly in Viet Nam. The holiday home rental service is growing at 184 per cent in HCM City and 144 per cent in Ha Noi.

House owners can send the PIN to tenants through a smartphone application, many PINs can be created at the same time, and the owners can track the in-out history, the company said.

The keys are priced at VND5.72 million (US$250).

Hafele is a German company that provides smart-home solutions, and has been in Viet Nam since 1998. — VNS
