German-made medical ventilators and monitors were donated to HCM City hospitals on Tuesday, thanks to Techtronic Industries and Deutsches Haus.

The donation was initiated by the Vietnamese Ambassador to Germany, Nguyen Minh Vu, the European Chamber of Commerce and the German Business Association in Viet Nam.

The medical equipment valued at US$350,000 was handed over to the Vietnam Fatherland Front, who were representing the People's Committee of HCM City, on Tuesday.

Sven Eschrich, Vice President Operations and New Product Introductions of Techtronic Industries in Viet Nam, and Elmar Dutt, COO and General Director of Deutsches Haus, also handed over 15 Intensive Care Ventilators and 30 Patient Monitors made by DRÄGER in Germany, for immediate use in HCM City hospitals.

“In this critical time of the COVID-19 pandemic, both our companies and our German and European partners stand side-by-side with HCM City and Viet Nam to support hospitals with much needed medical equipment,” Elmar Dutt said.
