Food company provides scholarships, bicycles to poor students

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The 3 Mien brand‘s Joining Hands for Vietnamese Future Programme, in collaboration with the Nghe An Province's Fund for Vietnamese Children, has provided scholarships, bicycles and notebooks to more than 200 underprivileged students.

The ceremony was held in central Nghe An Province on August 30.

The donation, worth VND1 billion (US$44,500), is part of the UNIBEN food manufacturing company 3 Mien brand's 2016 CSR programme in Viet Nam, which is aimed at helping poor students in the country's provinces and cities receive an education and overcome difficulties.

Under the programme, food worth VND1 billion was donated to improve the daily meals at six boarding schools for ethnic and minority students and three charity houses for poor children in Nghe An Province.

"Donations from UNIBEN food manufacturing company's 3 Mien brand will help children overcoming the challenges in their lives," Nguyen Huu Minh, Nghe An Province's Fund for Vietnamese Children director, said.

According to the fund‘s statistics, the province has more than 21,000 children facing difficulties, of whom thousands needed surgeries, while many others need support to continue their education.

The 3 Mien brand's Joining Hands for Vietnamese Future Programme, UNIBEN's CSR programme, aims to help poor children in Viet Nam. Over the past years, the programme has provided scholarships, bicycles and food to thousands of students living in difficult conditions and covered the surgical expenses of many children with congenital heart defects in Viet Nam. — VNS
