BAC NINH (Biz Hub) — Samsung Electronics Vietnam (SEV) Co. Ltd has opened Samsung Nanum Village to bring a more modern life to residents of the northern Bac Ninh Province's Thuy Hoa Commune.

Built at a cost of more than VND20 billion (US$909,000), including VND15 billion ($681,820) from SEV and the remainder from local funding, the village has a cultural house, a kindergarten, primary and secondary schools, along with a medical centre.

Starting construction in October 2013, the village, whose name means sharing in South Korean, is expected to provide a comprehensive environment for the commune's children.

The village is one of Samsung corporate citizenship initiatives that targets low-income and underprivileged areas for sustainable, economic development.
