Co.opmart, Co.opXtra, Co.op Food, Co.op Smile, and other supermarkets run by the Saigon Union of Trading Cooperatives (Saigon Co.op) will offer discounts on a wide range of products that help people stay cool amid the current hot weather.
Fruits, vegetables, soft drinks, all kinds of milk products, fans, and smoothie blenders will have their prices discounted by 25- to 50 per cent.
A 235ml can of Fanta orange/Sprite will be sold for VND5,900 per can, a 1l bottle of Dutch Lady yoghurt drink naturally fermented original taste /blueberry-mint flavour will cost VND26,000, a carton of 24 bottles x 280ml Wonder winter melon tea will cost VND125,000, a 350ml bottle of TH True Juice apple/ apple peach juice will cost VND14,300, a 450ml bottle of passion fruit tea with chia seeds / lemon peach tea with chia seeds/ lemongrass and lemon tea will cost VND6,500.
Vegetables, tubers and fruits will also have their prices reduced sharply.
Co.op Select Da Lat Beef tomato will be discounted by 50 per cent to VND21,900 per kilogramme, a bag of 280g Co.op Select baby choysum/ pok choy/ malabar spinach/ warer morning glory will be discounted by 49 per cent (in HCM City only), Co.op Select Da Lat cabbage will be discounted by 25 per cent to VND18,000 a pack, a pack of 200g Co.op Finest white button mushroom will be discounted by 25 per cent to VND37,500, and bitter melon/ round shaped pumpkin/jicama will be discounted by 30 per cent.

On Saturday (April 10): A 900g tin of Grow Plus+ weight gain supplement will be reduced from VND261,000 to VND220,000, and a 850g tin of Ensure Gold nutritional supplement powder drink with vanilla flavour / less sweet and vanilla flavour/ barley flavour / coffee flavour will be reduced from VND748,000 to VND740,000, and customers buying three or more tins will receive a complimentary blood pressure monitor or an electronic thermometer.
Sunday (April 11): A 220ml pack of Dutchlady pasteurised milk without sugar /sweetened / strawberry / chocolate will be discounted by 22 per cent to VND5,300, a 4x100g pack of Vinamilk Love Yogurt will be discounted by 25 per cent to VND20,000 and a multi-purpose blender SunhouseSHD5340B 500W will be discounted by 30 per cent to VND899,000, and a Lifan QL216RC remote 45W fan will be discounted by 22 per cent to VND599,000.
To celebrate Vietnam Cooperative Day, on April 11 customers with membership cards and running up bills of VND500,000 or more will get a gift of a 1l bottle of Co.op Select cooking oil.
Bills of over VND1 million will get two bottles of the oil.
A customer can get a maximum two bottles under the programme.
The programme is also among the activities meant to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Co-opmart supermarket system.
