Saigon Co.op’s retail systems, including Co.opmart, Co.opXtra, Co.op Food, Co.op Smile, Finelife, Sense City, and Cheers, will remain open for two to four hours more daily from February 4 to serve customers shopping for Tet, a spokesperson said.

They will close for only one day, on February 12, which is the Lunar New Year.

But Cheers 24/7 convenience stores will not close and remain open even on that day.

From February 4 to 7 Co.opmart, Co.opXtra and Co.op Smile will be open from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm, Co.op Food stores will be open from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm.

From February 8 to 10 the former will be open from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm, and Co.op Food from 5:30 am to 11:00 pm.

On February 11 (New Year’s Eve), all of them will be open from 6am to noon.

Co.opmart supermarkets, Co.op Smile and Co.op Food will reopen on February 13, 14 and 15, but function only for half a day.

They will resume normal operations on February 17.

Amid the unpredictability of the Covid-19 epidemic, manufacturers and retailers have acted quickly to ensure supply of goods and face masks.

Saigon Co-op, with a network of nearly 1,000 outlets across the country, has activated preventive measures and logistics plans to ensure sufficient supply of Tet goods.

It also has plans in place to transport essential goods from non-epidemic to epidemic areas to serve the needs of people there.

Besides, it has worked closely with suppliers to ensure prices are steady and consumers can be assured of quantity and quality.

Customers living in epidemic-hit areas who cannot go to the supermarket to shop can instead use Saigon Co-op’s ‘Gan ket tinh than – Tet xa them gan’ programme to place orders for Tet gift hampers, and the retailer will deliver the gifts for free everywhere across the country. — VNS
