Kevin Lee has been appointed president of Samsung Electronics Viet Nam.

He has more than 30 years’ experience in leadership positions across various markets, including as senior vice president, Verizon Account, at Samsung Electronics America and president of Samsung Electronics Benelux and Greece.

He said: “Viet Nam is going to be in the spotlight in 2021. I want to be a part of Viet Nam’s success stories by capturing opportunities for growth: recovering economy, IoT technology, open business environment, and a young, captivating generation of new consumers.

“I envision Samsung to be the brand that places itself into the right opportunities, at the appropriate channels where we provide the most value for consumers. Then and by only then, we can become the most beloved brand and stand out in a competitive landscape.”

The company said in a press release that its ultimate goals are to become a brand that has widespread recognition across business units, win consumers’ hearts and maintain its leadership across products categories.

To achieve them it plans to focus more on people and utilising impactful innovations with on-demand flexibility, including strengthening strategic partnerships with businesses and influencers, with both sides working towards a shared goal of creating value and moving beyond transactional relationships.

It also plans to provide rigorous training to employees and continue with its corporate social responsibility programmes, especially specialised training programmes in line with the Government’s directive to improve digital literacy and initiatives to improve people’s quality of life.

As competition becomes fiercer and online shopping becomes the norm, the company plans to utilise its technology base to drive digital transformation and innovations to serve consumers faster and better. — VNS
