Budget carrier Vietjet was honoured by the Disaster Prevention Fund for participating in activities to succour people affected by disasters at a ceremony in Da Nang late last week.
Vietjet employees’ have always been taking part in community activities and would continue to do so in future, the airline’s vice president Do Xuan Quang said.
“We are always aware of an enterprise’s responsibility to society, community and people in disadvantaged circumstances.”
Other firms which were honoured by the fund include real estate developer Vingroup, Truong Hai Auto Corporation, realty developer Sungroup, and IT giant FPT.
Over the past 10 years the fund has received over VND300 billion (US$12.9 million) worth of donations.
It has used that money to build primary and preschools, medical centres and cultural houses, and organised workshops to teach hundreds of students disaster prevention, and provided emergency assistance to tens of thousands of families across the country affected by natural disasters. — VNS
