Central Retail in Việt Nam handed over a day-boarding room and kitchen equipment to Tân Thủy Primary School in Bến Tre Province’s Ba Tri District on March 14.
The project aims to improve the school's educational quality and provide better living and learning conditions for students.
Speaking at the ceremony, Hồ Văn Nghĩ, principal of Tân Thủy Primary School, shared: “The dormitory and kitchen equipment will significantly benefit our 640 students. It will enable them to have better living and learning conditions, meeting the requirements of the 2018 General Education Programme.
“Notably, this project marks a significant milestone, making Tân Thủy the third primary school in the district to offer a boarding programme and paving the way for the school to achieve national standard recognition in the near future,” he said.
Nguyễn Thị Bích Vân, head of Communications at Central Retail, said the project, with a total value of nearly VNĐ660 million (US$27,000), is part of Central Retail Vietnam's corporate social responsibility commitment "One Mall - One School”, which focuses on providing financial support to schools, building and upgrading infrastructure, and providing better teaching and learning tools for children.
To date, the CSR initiative has donated more than VNĐ7.5 billion ($306,000) to 12 primary, secondary, and high schools, benefiting 7,000 children by providing them with better access to quality educational facilities.
