Low-cost carrier Jetstar Pacific has launched a check-in service using wireless internet for all its flights, starting this month to ease congestion at airport check-in counters.
The company said passengers would save time queuing at check-in desks and ground service staff will instead support travellers with a tablet anywhere in the airport.
The wireless internet check-in service will be applied at HMC City’s Tan Son Nhat, Ha Noi’s Noi Bai airport and Da Nang airport for passengers who do not need to check luggage.
The airline said it operates more than 100 flights for 20,000 passengers daily, and will add 1,000 flights over the week-long Tet (lunar New Year) holiday later this month.
Jetstar Pacific is also launching a direct route from Da Nang to Osaka this month, with four flights a week.
In July, the airline inked a contract to buy 10 Airbus A320 CEO Sharklets to build up a fleet of 30 aircraft by 2020.
Jetstar Pacific, a member of the Jetstar Group, has grown from five aircraft in 2013 to 12 now and flies on 32 domestic and international routes. — VNS
