Ascott Vietnam donates VNĐ650m to help poor children

Ascott Vietnam last year donated a total of VND650 million (US$28,800) to help improve the education and living conditions of more than 2,300 underprivileged children and disadvantaged people in the provinces of Nam Dinh, Phu Tho, Hoa Binh, Binh Phuoc, Long An and HCM City.

Ascott properties in Ha Noi, Hai Phong, Nha Trang and HCM City held more than 50 activities in Viet Nam, dedicated more than 3,000 volunteer hours in addition to donations of $30,000 as well as in-kind gifts for company’s charitable partners and local charities, according to its Country General Manager, Lew Yen Ping.

Key activities included raising awareness among the public in volunteering, helping more than 1,000 children in remote areas in Nam Dinh, Hoa Binh and Binh Phuoc provinces.

Ascott’s associates have also donated 185 units of blood to the National Institute of Hemotology and Blood Transfusion.

The group also raised donations to provide aid to those affected by Typhoon Damrey in Khanh Hoa. Funds were also used to help repair homes.— VNS
