HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev) has launched the 2016 Global Beer Responsibility Day in Viet Nam to improve awareness of drinking responsibly in the community.
The brewer's staff in Viet Nam are visiting supermarkets and retail shops in Ha Noi, HCM City and Binh Duong Province to hand over flyers with five principles on drinking responsibly so that consumers can reach home safely after consuming alcohol.
Ricardo Vasques, general director of AB InBev Vietnam, said the event is based on an idea called "for a better world" that his company developed to encourage customers to drink responsibly.
AB InBev is organising a series of programmes in key international markets to celebrate the 2016 Global Beer Responsibility Day.
They include co-operation with Lyft Inc in the US to launch a safe driving campaign, the "Leave Nothing to Chance" programme in China and training programmes for beer sellers in India, Viet Nam, and Russia.
Carlos Brito, managing director of AB InBev, said Global Beer Responsibility Day is the best opportunity for his company to co-operate with governments and non-governmental organizations to create a difference.
"We can together take a further step in the effort to reduce the harm caused by using alcoholic drinks."
In another development, AB InBev has launched a programme called Global Smart Drinking Goals under which six cities in the world will try to reduce the harmful effects of alcohol by 10 per cent.
The cities are Leuven in Belgium, Santa Cruz in Bolivia, Brasilia in Brazil, Jiangshan in China, Zacatecas in Mexico, and Columbus in the US.— VNS
