HA NOI (Biz Hub) – VPBank on Thursday officially launched its social security programme titled "Acting For Dreams," with a total fund of VND5 billion (US$238,000).
The bank will put up VND1 billion ($47,600) to award scholarships for poor students and VND4 billion ($190,400) to support social security activities in 11 localities including Hoa Binh, Nghe An, Phu Tho, Can Tho and Kien Giang.
Nguyen Duc Vinh, VPBank's general director, said the bank's activities aimed to bring benefits to the community, especially to people who wanted to develop a businesses but could not due to lack of capital.
Vinh added that the bank has made a long-term commitment.

Over the past 20 years, the bank has contributed to several social security programmes including building a kindergarten school in Nam Dinh Province's Xuan Hoa District, aiding the construction of more than 1 million houses for poor people and giving scholarships to students nationwide.
