BIDV, NEU to co-operate in research projects

HA NOI (Bizhub) – The Bank for International Development of Viet Nam (BIDV) and the National Economics University (NEU) on Wednesday signed a co-operation agreement for the 2015-19 period.

Under the agreement, the two institutions will co-operate in carrying out research projects, technology development, organising specialised conferences, dialogues and short-term training activities for BIDV staff, and in providing banking services.

The university will provide training to BIDV staff, while the bank will send banking experts to work as lecturers at a number of training programmes of the university to help improve the quality of training.

The two sides will also work together in the fields of communications, personnel recruitment and brand development.

Regarding banking services co-operation, BIDV will arrange to meet the university's capital investment demand to expand its operations, and also provide it financial banking services. BIDV will also consider providing the university with capital to help speed up the process of State-funded infrastructure construction projects.

At the ceremony held for the signing of the agreement, BIDV committed to give VND1.5 billion ($7,140) in aid as scholarships for outstanding students of the university for five years, starting from this year.— VNS
