Vinsmart, a member of the property and retail conglomerate Vingroup JSC, will begin selling its second generation of smart phones on August 11.

The new products will employ European technology, using a VOS2.0 operating system developed on a completely new Android platform and optimised for users.

The first new product will be the Vsmart Live, Vsmart's most advanced model to date. It will be priced at VND6.990 million (US$300) and will come in pearl white, ultra-green and mysterious black.

Vsmart software engineers have re-designed the phone’s entire interface, optimised gesture controls to eliminate the navigation bar and improved the process to backup, restore and sync user data.

The new operating system also has a simple mode for older people and will allow users to run two accounts on the same application.

Vsmart Live will have a triple camera system with a 48 megapixel main camera offering night mode, 5MP fog removal lens and 8MP wide-angle camera. The main camera will have an f/1.7 aperture lens for great performance in low-light conditions. Artificial intelligence will automatically adjust the images to create sharp, high quality photos.

The 5MP camera will ensure the subject stands out while the surroundings are blurred. The 8MP wide-angle camera will help users capture more of the scenery.

The phone has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 processor that provides powerful performance, a 6.2-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a fingerprint sensor and a large 4,000 mAh battery that supports fast charging.

Speaking about the launch, Deputy General Manager of Marketing at VinSmart Dang Quoc Cuong said: “In recent years, besides Vietnamisation and development of the VOS operating system, Vsmart has co-operated with technology giants such as Qualcomm (US) and Fujitsu (Japan) to catch up and apply the most modern technology to manufacture phones and smart devices.”

In order to quickly and thoroughly handle all problems that customers encounter, Vsmart will open 20 more customer care centers throughout the country. There are currently three centers in Ha Noi, Da Nang and HCM City.

One year after announcing its brand, VinSmart has introduced five mobiles including the Joy1, Joy1 +, Active, Active1 + and Live generation 1. — VNS
