HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Taiwanese investment associations all highly appreciate the investment opportunities in Viet Nam, and considering the country an important destination to do business.

This was announced during an introductory meeting on specialised exhibitions of Taiwan held in HCM City this week.

During the meeting, Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) said that Taiwanese businesses have taken much interest in the consumer goods industries that include food and foodstuff, garment and textiles, footwear and electricity, and electronics that Taiwan has its strong advantages.

To help Vietnamese businesses seek co-operative opportunities TAITRA will conduct incentive programmes to support Vietnamese businesses to visit typical exhibitions in Taiwan in the coming year such as the International Food Show, Packaging Industry Show, Hotel / Restaurant / Catering Equipment and Accessories, and Bakery Equipment Show, in addition to International Lighting Show, International Cycle Show, International Sports Instruments Show, and International Gift and Stationery Show.

It is reported that the Taiwanese consumer goods industry has developed well and reached international quality, of which the bicycle industry accounted for US$2.7 billion of its exports. Besides, sports and fitness equipment, golf and outdoor sports equipment are also exported globally. Last year, the Taiwanese sport industry exported $1.8 billion of its sport equipment. — VNS
