Auto company VinFast on Thursday released pictures of its first two cars, a sedan and an SUV, to be displayed at this year’s Paris Motor Show.
They have been designed by Italian studio Pininfarina.
With its long capo and post-classical cabin creating a sophisticated symmetry and elegance, the sedan highlights the beauty of luxury. The SUV boasts a powerful capo offering a sporty athleticism.
Both have the company’s logo in the front, an asymmetric "V", with the right side of the letter being a horizontal chrome line combined with daytime running light (DLR) to create a stylised "F", representing the second syllable of VinFast.
Director of design for VinFast, David Lyon, said: “We and Pininfarina have perfected each line to ensure that both sedans and SUVs convey the natural beauty as well as the open and dynamic nature of Viet Nam and its people through the modern design language and international standard.”
Unlike the global norm, VinFast allowed customers to participate in the car model selection process. The models announced now are the result of more than 62,000 consumers voting from 20 outlines made by four leading designers.
Just one year after the poll VinFast will take them to the Paris Motor Show on October 2 before introducing them to the Vietnamese public at the end of this year.
VinFast will become the first Vietnamese automaker to participate in a Top 5 International Automobile Exhibition.
VinFast’s cars will be sold in Viet Nam from September 2019.
The company is also developing electric cars, small cars, electric buses, and electric motorcycles, and plans to export them globally. — VNS
