VINECO constructs $44.45 million greenhouse system in Vinh Phuc

HA NOI ( Biz Hub) — VINECO, a subsidiary of Vingroup, kicked off construction of the first greenhouse system, valued at VND1 trillion (US$44.45 million), in the northern Vinh Phuc province on August 28.

The group said the greenhouse project, the biggest ever in Viet Nam, would employ Israeli technology to manufacture and supply different kinds of sprouts and vegetables under VIETGAP and GLOBALGAP (Good Agriculture Practices ) standards at a capacity of 3,500 tonnes per year.

The greenhouses will be built on a total area of 24.5ha in three Vinh Phuc districts. VINECO Tam Dao greenhouses will use technology from the famous Teshuva Agricultural Projects.

The greenhouses are expected to provide their first batch of fresh vegetables in the last quarter of 2015, and these will be distributed through Vinmart supermarkets and Vinmart + convenience stores.

Under the plan of developing a sustainable agricultural production chain to serve domestic and foreign demand, the group will construct its second greenhouse project, covering 30ha of land in Cu Chi District, HCM City.

VINECO will also deploy its agricultural production chain in the provinces of Quang Ninh, Lao Cai, Hai Duong, Thanh Hoa and Kon Tum. — VNS
