Vietfarm Limited Company on Wednesday sent its first container of 288,000 salted duck egg yolks to Australia.
HCM City’s Department of Animal Health said that Vietfarm was the first company in Viet Nam to export salted duck egg yolks to Australia – a market with strict food hygiene and safety requirements.
Under the contract with Australia’s Chen Foods, Vietfarm will ship a container of salted duck egg yolks every month to Australia before increasing to two containers later.
Dam Van Hoat, general director of Vietfarm, said that Australia was a potential market for salted duck egg yolks because a large community of Asian Australians had a high demand for the product.
The export price of salted duck eggs was set at VND4,250 each (excluding shipping fees and taxes).
Hoat said that this would be an opportunity for the industry in Viet Nam and ensure a stable income for farmers.
Vietfarm also exports salted duck eggs to Singapore with a volume of two containers a month.
