HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — The Vietnam Brewery Limited has issued the first ever sustainability report by a brewery in the country, and it focuses on the reasons to protect the environment and social responsibility.
The report includes protecting water resources with investment by the company in water-saving technologies and water-treatment systems, which resulted in a 5.9 per cent reduction in water consumption last year.
VBL targets reducing carbon dioxide emissions to 2.34kg/hl this year from 3.69kg/hl in 2014.
The company, a joint venture between the Saigon Trade Corp. or SATRA and Heineken Asia Pacific, also promotes awareness of environmental preservation and responsible consumption in the community via social activities. — VNS
